Things to do! Things to see!

Finals are done!

Tue Jan 22, 2008, 3:19 PM
Like the title said. And now I have a five-day weekend!

I might try to post one more thing, but that's not too realistic, since I've got a solo/ensemble contest on saturday, a play to practice for, a huge art project due in two weeks, an english presentation when I go back, and a 50,000-word novel I decided to write in January on a whim.

So, just a little busy. But hey, a five day weekend is great. And finals were less painful than I expected, except now I have a deep-seated, intense hatred of test essays (one took me two hours. two hours!).

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to put up my big art project (it's for a different contest), but if I can I will. It's going to be pretty sick.
One more thing: If you've never heard of the Moomin series, I'd suggest checking out the books or the comics. I read the books as a kid, and now that I've started reading the comics I can see how genius the series is.

-EDIT-

Say it ain't so! :tears: We'll miss you Dennis, we really will.

a return to normality

Sun Oct 14, 2007, 2:13 PM
Well, the Chinese exchange student has come and gone. Hosting him was actually a lot of fun, but a lot of work, too. Plus he didn't speak the greatest english ever, so there was a slight language barrier. He was really nice, though, and we did a lot of fun things while he was here. So a big shoutout to Andy if he's reading this.

Now that andy's gone, everything's kind of eerily normal. Which would actually make this the first time in five or six months that nothing weird is going on in my life. Besides school and an audition this wednesday, actually, i'm pretty much back into the routine.

Now, that's not to say that you should expect me to start putting stuff up more often now. I'll probably just use the free time to read up on traditional styles of drawing for Art class and some random sociology stuff that absolutely no one else is interested. Oh, and now I've decided to beat all of my old GBA games again, because I was feeling nostalgic the other day, so... yeah. That should be fun. In addition, I'm thinking about quitting my current job that pays nearly nothing to apply at a restaurant where one of my friends works.

So the peace and quiet I'm enjoying right now probably won't last long :ohnoes: But hey, I would miss not having chaos in my life.

I can't promise anything, but I'll try to put up a few more pics in the next few weeks to stay in the habit and to reach my goal for the year.

Hey, it turns out I'm not dead!

Bleh, it's been a while. Sorry for not updating more often, but school has been sort of insane, what with all activities and hw and such. I have testing all next week, though, so hopefully I'll have enough free time after school to put up a few more pictures.

School has been pretty cool, except for all the work. I've got most of my friends in my classes, so it's been fun. Plus I'm getting an exchange student from China next week, which is really exciting =D

Like I said, all the work I've been getting has sort of kept me from putting up a lot of art, but now that I've gotten a few major projects done, I might actually be able to do some stuff.

Hopefully the next journal will be up in less than a month?

School...

Mon Aug 27, 2007, 11:07 AM
So, school is finally back in.

Tomorrow is the official start of the school year. Meaning I'll have to go to sleep and get up early, do homework. For 36 weeks.

Why must life be so cruel to me?!?!

But seriously, it should be all right. Even though I still don't have my schedule(), I know a lot of kids in my homeroom. Plus I got some pretty interesting classes like Chinese and Art Intro, which could be fun. So... I'm so-so in it. I guess I'll really have to see whether or not I have good teachers and my friends in my classes.

But this means I might be a little more irregular in my updates. Plus I have to perform with the marching band in the halftime show for the entire football season, so that takes a good chumk out of Fridays and Saturdays. But I'll try to get up at least one picture a week, even if it's not of the highest quality.

Not too much more going on right now, just trying to figure out what I'll need for the first day, reviewing all the math I forgot, etc.

Back From Vacation!

Fri Aug 24, 2007, 2:12 PM
Hey everyone, I'm finally back from my outing to the Upper Peninsula, which was amazing. The whole peninsula is only sparsely populated, and most of the land is natural and wild. My favorite part was probably visiting the grand sable dunes, which are hundreds of feet high and stretch on for miles. Most people only look at the first few dunes, so if you go into them a little you feel completely isolated. It was stunning stuff.

Well, besides that, not much is going on. This journal is just to remind people that I'm not dead, really. Classes start for me in a few days, and I still don't have my schedule  Hopefully I'll get one last picture up before school starts, and from there I'm gonna wing it.
